The Generation Girl Face Mould
Generation Girl Dolls
Ana
Ana Suarez was of Mexican-American descent, the only Hispanic doll in the GG line. Marketed as a serious athlete, she was introduced in the first wave as a swimmer with related accessories. Ana was absent from the Dance Party line, but an unreleased prototype was produced and is shown as Ana's official image on the Barbie Collector site. Ana later made her final appearance in the "My Room" line, where her eyes changed from brown to green. Ana shares a face mold with Lara.
In Europe, this doll is marketed as "Marissa".

Barbie
Barbie Roberts herself featured as a character in the line, this time reincarnated as a 15-year-old film and acting fan. A core character, Barbie sported a new facemold (now known as the Generation Girl mold) which has since been often used on playline dolls. First edition dolls were sold with a small heart-shaped ankle tattoo, but these dolls were pulled from production due to parent complaints. In the first series Barbie had fair skin and golden blond hair, but in the later two her skin was tanner and her hair a platinum shade of blond.

Chelsie
Chelsie Peterson is a British musician, introduced in the first wave and reappearing as a Toys 'R Us exclusive in the Dance Party line (there are few differences in the two dolls, with the main changes in clothing and accessories). Chelsie was the center of most of the initial GG controversy, as the first edition dolls sported a tiny nosering in the facemold. The second edition of the doll used the modified verison of the mold with specially molded earrings (used on Tori), but again these piercings were considered too extreme. First wave Chelsie was finally sold with a modified headmold that lacked both the earrings and nosering.

Lara
Lara Morelli-Strauss was introduced in the first Generation Girl wave, in 1999, and remained one of the core dolls, existing in all three lines until the series was dropped in 2001. A sophisticated artist in character, the doll shares a demure, specially-created facemold with Ana. Initially, the character's eyes were brown, but changed to a gray-blue shade in the second and third series.
In Europe, this doll is marketed as "Marie".

Mari
Mariko "Mari" Nakano was a technological whiz of Japanese heritage and was the only Asian doll in the GG line; she made her debut in the 2000 Dance Party series and appeared again in the My Room line. Mari's mold was new to the Generation Girls and has been used rarely if at all since. She is notable for the fiery red streaks in both doll's hair.
In Europe, this doll is marketed as "Mariko".

Nichelle
Nichelle Williams was introduced as a Generation Girl in 1999, though her name was reused from the earlier Shani series. An aspiring model, Nichelle used the Asha mold. There were two releases of the first doll - one had longer curlier hair (pictured below) with her sunglasses packaged in her hand, the other had shorter hair and was packaged with the glasses on her head. Nichelle is one of the core dolls and was featured in all three series, and was praised for her more natural African American appearance.

Tori
Victoria "Tori" Burns is the line's Australian character, who is alternately said to be from both Melbourne and Sydney. An extreme sports fan, Tori was sold with skateboarding, snowboarding, and scooter gear in various seasons. One of the core dolls, Tori is consistently packaged with long, two-tone blond ponytails (with blue and red streaks in the Dance Party and My Room lines, respectively). Tori uses the Chelsie-Tori Face Mould, modified to include three molded earrings in her left ear and one in her right. The first dolls had stylized facepaint with blue eyes, though later editions had more lifelike faces with green eyes.
In Europe, this doll is marketed as both "Susie" and "Vicky".
